Happy Easter, April 20! (WOW- I AM BEHIND!)

Today was a splendid day (or it was on the 20th of April, when I wrote this) to just relax and enjoy the beauty of God's creation. After MyLittleMegara and her family came home from church, we packed up to go to her grandparents' for afternoon social time/ dinner. But we ended up not having dinner or being social with humans- just enjoying sunshine and each others' company.
Where Mama left us: a chair on the deck.

Vivian was the first one brave enough to venture off of the seat, but I joined her quickly.

Next to join us was Mulan.

The three of us chatted for a while, soon to be joined by Ariel.

Aside from Esmeralda, Ariel is probably my best friend so we had a LOT to talk about.

I think our discussion of hair accessories bored the other two into near oblivion, so they went back to sit for a while.

Tiana and Naveen seemed perfectly happy to be left alone, staring at the yard and whispering.

Suddenly, Ariel stopped talking about hairstyling tips and whispered "Look!" in my ear.

Rapunzel was using her hair to climb out of the chair and Flynn was watching her like a hawk to make sure that she landed safely.

Sure enough, she landed safely- because he caught her.

Quickly, almost before we could notice it, he embraced her.

"Oh my goodness!" Ariel breathed in my ear, "Tiana and Naveen are great and everything, but these two are ADORABLE!"

I agreed with her on that particular observation. :}

Vivian climbed up on top of the deck railing to enjoy some beautiful sunshine, while Tiana and Naveen sat in the vacant chair next to the chair where Mulan was still sitting.

Ariel and I also sunned for a while, but that got boring and our vinyl started to feel a little too warm.

As we lay in the warmth, we noticed a man made pond a few feet away. For all that she loves clothes, Ariel also likes trying new things and exploring, especially with her friends. Naturally, we decided to check it out.
Flynn and Rapunzel felt no such obligation.

Well, that was actually a really gross decision because this was as close as we were willing to get to the mucky pond.

But it was so different from the usual view of MyLittleMegara's bookshelves that we didn't mind. :)

After some walking and talking about everything and nothing, Ariel found a pinecone just our size.

I guess that's one of our Ariel's movie comparisons: she has a thing for stuff. (Now that's a vague sentence.) I mean, she likes to collect knick knacks.

Seeing that Mulan was sitting on the edge of the mulch bed by the deck, Ariel decided to show her her treasure.

Mulan thought it was neat and suggested that we show the others. Tiana and Naveen also liked it, although Vivian didn't really seem to care. (I think she pretended to for Ariel's sake.) But Rapunzel and Flynn weren't on the deck!

We ended up finding them in a little hollow place under a bud-less Japanese maple. They didn't really look like they wanted to see a pinecone, so we left before they noticed us.

After that, Mama wanted to get a picture of me in a tree (she has the strangest ideas sometimes- she kept leaving us out there to be with her family and then rushing back outside to take a bunch of pictures that I'm not including in this already 31 pictures long post) so... into a tree I went.

It was neat to see the world from where a human does- it seems so much bigger from up here!

She gave Ariel a boost as well and got more pictures.

After she let us down, we walked back to our friends and spent the rest of the afternoon discussing nature, our blessings, and the intricacies of life as a doll.

April 19, 2014

I interviewed Tinker Bell today!

Personality: Feisty, gossip, sweet (unless I'm mad,) maybe just a little vain.

How I'm Like Movie Tink: We're sweet and sour at the same time and like to look good.

How I'm Different From Movie Tink: Well, in the books she has this hammer that she loves more than anything else. For me, I have this big green swan figure that I've had ever since I got out of my box and a hairbrush. I also love to know about the dolls around me- although I do my best to avoid hurtful gossip. News shouldn't be demeaning or unkind! Oh, and I've met Wendy and I bet we'll be friends, not enemies.

One Fun Fact: My bangs were cut wrong in the factory! MyLittleMegara says it gives my face character so I guess I'll just have to get used to it. *sigh*

April 18, 2014

Happy Good Friday, everyone! I asked MyLittleMegara about Wendy and Anastasia. Wendy's still in fix-up mode, and Anastasia "hasn't had all the details worked out" which either means MyLittleMegara's having second thoughts or something's going wrong on the seller's end. I also checked in on Ariel- she's doing much better. She promised trip photos soon!

April 7, 2014- Ariel's Accident

I found out what happened to Ariel.
Mama called Rapunzel and me to Ariel and Rapunzel's apartment this morning. (They're roomies.) But before letting us in, she told us that Ariel was inside resting with two friends. That sounded a might off to me, but I took Rapunzel's hand and... in we went.
We saw that Ariel was curled up in bed, being watched by a pony and...
"URSULA!" Rapunzel whisper-yelled.
"Shhh!" I hissed.
Ariel muttered something in her sleep.
Rapunzel turned to the purple doll and I followed suit.
"I should explain," said a Southern drawl.
Gingerly, Rapunzel and I sat on the end of the sleeping Ariel's bed, facing the Ursula doll.
Looking back, we were extremely unfair to that doll. After all, we've been living with Maleficent and she's made no move to put Aurora to hundred year sleep. I guess we were just worried about our friend.
"My name is Lula. Your human picked me up at a thrift store and then sort of... forgot about me, I guess. Then there was the accident, and she remembered me saying how I've studied doll medicine. Tickles here insisted on comin', too."
The pony nickered and Rapunzel looked at Lula. "The accident?" she asked.
But before Lula could answer, Ariel stirred. She looked up over her blanket and smiled when she saw me and her BFF.
"You met Lula and Tickles, right?"
"Yeah," I answered, "they seem nice."
"Oh, they are!" my friend gushed, "After, well..." her smile faltered.
"What? Rapunzel asked gently, "what happened?"
"I don't really want to talk about it," Ariel mumbled.
"You should tell them and get it over with," Lula advised.
Tickles whuffled her agreement.
"You can tell us anything," Rapunzel insisted.
"She's right," I said softly, "we love you. We want you back."
I took my friend's hand. "Please. Bring our bubbly mermaid back!"
Ariel took a deep breath. "I was in a purse with a black lining and it rubbed off on me, staining my plastic. My forehead, my nose, my knees, my finders, my toes- all charcoal gray. With some soft scrub, baking soda, and acetone, we were able to get most of it off. My toes are still a little gray, but over all it is a TON better. But there was an- incident- with the acetone..." she bit her lips. "It dripped on my back. It felt like fire on my vinyl. I was burned- my back, and my shoulder. I worried I'd be trash, you know, spoiled goods- so not mint condition that Mama wouldn't want me anymore. But Mama found Lula and Tickles and made sure I would be okay. And she gave me Tylenol for the pain. Now it only stings a little when I rub against something. But I'm going to be okay." She set her jaw. "I'm not going to let this stop me. Tiana lost a head." (Long story- you don't want to know.) "Esmeralda lost a leg. A few scars shouldn't hold me back!"
Rapunzel was crying a little- she's our Fluttershy that way. I could feel a tear on my cheek, too, but Ariel's eyes remained dry, which impressed me.
"May- may we see?" Rapunzel asked tentatively.

Ariel's back- you can't see it very well, but she has an arc of melted vinyl on her back.
And her peeling, flaking, yet held together shoulder
"Oh, honey," Rapunzel crooned motherly, swathing Ariel in a hug, "that must have been so hard."
"It was no bed of roses," Ariel agreed. She hesitated before continuing. "So... am I horribly disfigured? I can only see through my own eyes."
"Of course not!" I answered, "you're the same beautiful doll we know and love." I hugged her, too.
"But," I said, "You need rest so you can gain your strength."
I helped tuck her back in, fluffing her pillow and smoothing her hair.

"Get well soon, Ariel," I wished, kissing her on the forehead. "Are you coming, Rapunzel?"
"No, I'd like to stay here if it's okay with you, Lula."
The purple doll smiled. "That would be lovely. I'm starvin'."
As Lula and I left, I saw Rapunzel settle onto her bed and Tickles start to whinny a lullaby.

Lula smiled, seeming to read my unspoken worries. "Sugar, she'll be fine."
Lula left- but I stayed put.
My life isn't perfect. I have messy hair and rubbed paint and a bunch of missing accessories. But I'm not scarred or stained. Somehow, my beautiful friend had become more beautiful because of her injuries. I thought for a while and decided that that was what inner beauty was all about: courage in the face of suffering.

April 1, 2014

Ariel is still missing. I'm really worried now; she's usually the most social among us! Whenever I ask Mama about her, she completely avoids the question. I know she's in the house because Mama would have told us if Ariel was gone completely. I just wish I know what was going on!

On a happier note, I've now met the two new girls. In Florida, MyLittleMegara got a Tinker Bell doll and another Jasmine doll. Tinker Bell calls herself Tink and the Jasmine insists that her name is Vivian.
