July 4, 2014

On July 4th, to celebrate independence day, we had a dance. (MyLittleMegara, the Frogs, and Annabel were still on vacation.)

Flynn and Rapunzel opened the dance floor.

Hercules swept me into a dance as well.

The third couple to join us was Adam and Belle.

Some of the other dolls danced alone or with friends, but even those without a date had a fun time. Well, almost all of those.

At one point, while I was taking a snack break, I heard sniffling.

"Cornelia, what's wrong?" I asked.

She avoided my eyes and my question for as long as she could, then finally said in a tiny voice "Adam."

I gave her a hug, then looked her in the eyes. "You know what?" I said, "You are going to be okay."

She smiled weakly, but the smile didn't reach her eyes.

The Rest of June, 2014

We are fast approaching my 1 year blogoversary and I am desperate to get caught up before then. So, I am going to summarize quite a bit of the 8 months between now and then. Sorry to all of the wonderful photos of June that aren't making it in here.

The rest of June was not particularly eventful. We had several new arrivals (Aquata, Wendy, Sarah (an Elsa,) and Elizabeth (an Anna).)

On the 22nd, Flynn finally proposed to Rapunzel. None of us were really surprised- by the end it had been more of a "when" than an "if." She's over the moon about it, especially about how he knew to call her "Punzie" without her saying a word! They're precious.

The 30th brought more romance, with Adam and Belle finding a quiet moment that ended in them admitting they really admired each other.

On the 28th (yes, I know that's before the 30th- bear with me.) Tiana and Naveen left on their honeymoon, Annabel ended up going on the trip too, but separately. She wrote us letters saying that the scenery in the Rocky Mountains is so much more beautiful that our flat Midwest. Observe:

That was June in a nutshell. :)
