June 4, 2014- The Wedding

Today dawned clear and sunny, the perfect day for a wedding!

As the official decorator/caterer, Holly set everything up and made sure that the window seat would look perfect for Tiana and Naveen's big day.

MyLittleMegara let them use her flower crown as a backdrop for the ceremony.

I'm pretty sure every doll in MyLittleMegara's collection (and several from her mother's) were there. There were dolls I'd never even seen! I guess everybody was just so excited at the thought of the first doll wedding ever to take place here.

I was honored to be one of Tiana's bridesmaids. You'll notice that we're on stands for most of this- MyLittleMegara didn't want anyone to fall over during the wedding so she insisted on it.

The seven of us lined up by where Naveen was standing, waiting for his bride.

Jasmine followed Tiana up the aisle while Vivaldi's wedding march played in the background.

When Tiana took her place in front of Naveen, his face was absolutely priceless.

Flynn, who was officiating, took one of each of their hands and the ceremony began.

Tiana and Naveen exchanged traditional doll vows: "I Tiana take you Naveen, to be my wedded husband. To have and to hold, to love and to cherish, in brokenness and mint condition, with rich humans or poor, for better or for worse, till dumpster or landfill do us part."

One tradition that is often forgotten in doll weddings is the glove removal ceremony. The removal of the bride's gloves by the groom symbolize the openness the two of them will share.

After the glove removal, Tiana and Naveen exchanged their wedding bracelets.

Flynn pronounced them husband and wife and Naveen got to kiss Tiana.

Everybody clapped. :)

In doll traditions, a bride choses the doll she thinks will be the next to get married and presents her with her bouquet. Tiana chose Rapunzel, causing much blushing from the blonde.

Once the ceremony was over, everybody went to take pictures and have cake.

All to soon, the party was over and Tiana and Naveen were off to their new apartment.

Snow had left a present in there for them when she decorated and the Frogs (for that is the last name the chose) sent me photos of them arriving in their home and opening it.

Many, many congratulations to the Frogs!

    1. Thanks, Isabelle! I'll let them know you stopped by. They did go on a honeymoon, but not until early July. Those posts should come soon but MyLittleMegara is pretty much always on the computer doing work and blogging time is pretty scarce around here. :)
