Who's Gonna Save The World Tonight?

I guess my problem really started with the sign. I was taking Panic, my pet imp, for a walk when I saw it. (Yes, a walk inside. Panic is agoraphobic. And claustrophobic. And hydrophobic. And arachnophobic. And essentially every other kind of "phobic" that it's possible to be.)

While walking, I noticed that something was wrong because Panic had started to whimper.

I looked down and asked him what was bothering him.

"The sign..." Panic moaned, "It's different! It wasn't here last time!"

Aah. Fear of change.

I knelt down and gave him a hug, which calmed him.

When Panic stopped shaking, I put him down and walked over to inspect the new sign.

"Hero training?" I mused out loud.

"DON'T MAKE ME GO!" Panic screamed. I chose to ignore him.

"I bet Hercules would like that."

"I WOULDN'T!"

I scratched Panic's head and reassured him that he would not have to go to hero training. All the while, my brain bounced from possibility to possibility as I thought of how excited Herc would be when he found out about the program.

It seemed like the perfect idea. At the time.

If only I'd known what was coming.

MEG: My Life In Purple and Plastic Revamp 2016!

As I promised, this summer brings some exciting changes for this blog. After two years of scrambling to try and catch up to posts written nearly a year previously, I decided that I would need to make a few very important alterations to the way I post because honestly, I've been terrible about keeping a blogging schedule.

Well, I am pleased to tell you that on September 20, 2016, this blog is beginning a new season! Posting will now be in episodic format, each episode consisting on several weeks worth of pictures and text. For each episode, I will make one post which I will plan to add on to (hopefully) every other week until the episode is complete.

I am very excited to start this new chapter for my blog! Thank you so much for sticking with me through these wonderful two years.

May- October, 2015

In mid May, Esmeralda got her earring and coin shawl that she'd been trying to get since she came to MyLittleMegara's house! They look so good on her!

In early June, we got some sad news.

We were talking with Hyacinth, one of the newest additions, when Zia and Hannah came up to us.

Zia was carrying Ariel's blue dress.

"Here, I want you to have this back," she said.

"Oh, I only wanted to borrow it back for the wedding. You can keep it," Ariel smiled.

"No, Ariel, I don't need it any more. You see, we- Hannah and I- are leaving."

"Why?" I burst out, "Why are you leaving?"

Hannah piped up. "We both decided we would rather be played with than sit on shelves. MyLittleMegara is great, but she isn't five years old."

Ariel and I looked at each other. They had a point, but we didn't want to see them go.

"We're really going to miss you," Ariel said.

"And we'll miss you," Hannah smiled, "but it's for the best.

Hannah walked over to Hyacinth and they started to negotiate something. Turns out Hannah was giving Hyacinth her bed since she wouldn't need it anymore and Hyacinth didn't have one yet.

After that had been dealt with, Hannah and Zia said their goodbyes. I gave them each big hugs and Ariel wished them luck on their journeys. Then they walked away.

A few days later, Herc and I went to MyLittleMegara with the intention of having some of our factory paint flaws remedied.

We look much better now. :) His eyebrows were coming off in chunks!

Then, in October, I went to New England with MyLittleMegara. It was a lot of fun. I saw Greek and Roman art, as well as the sea! Sadly, most of the pictures of that trip have gotten lost BUT here are the ones I could find:

With that, I have now brought you up to date on everything I have pictures of or have written a post on! :D

The Great Doll Blog Award!

Hello, internet! I'm back, though not with an update on my actual life. I do have an in progress post in my drafts, though, so we are getting closer to catching up. Instead, I'm here to announce that I was nominated by Grace for this prestigious award!

I have to answer her questions:

1. How long have you been blogging?

It feels like forever, but it was May 17 of 2014. Almost two years!

2. What is your favorite doll that you own?

Being a 12 inch doll, I don't own any dolls but my two closest friends are Esmeralda and my boyfriend, Hercules.

3. What doll do you hope to own someday?

Again, I'm a doll... I don't own other dolls, but I would love for Esmeralda to someday have a love interest. I know she wants one, even though she'll never admit it.

4. If you could have the outfit of any of your dolls, which would it be?

I've borrowed Ariel's blue dress a couple of times... but If I could have any of my friend's outfits, I'd want Elsa's blue dress. It's so pretty!

5. What is your favorite post/video that you've ever photographed/filmed?

I'm partial to Anna and Kristoff's engagement and wedding shoot. I love how MyLittleMegara did their pictures.

I would nominate 5 other bloggers, but MyLittleMegara is in a rush to use her computer again so she can do some sort of French thing... anyway, if you want to do this, feel free to answer the questions I was given in comments! Thank you, Grace!

January through March 2015

Long time, no post! I suppose this is typical of me, though. I'm so sorry. :(

In any event, I am back to fill you in on the wonderful and the not-so-wonderful things that happened in January through March of last year.

On January 4th, the Frozen dolls decided to watch their movie.

I think they had a good time.

On January 10th, Anna and Kristoff had their engagement photos taken by MyLittleMegara.

They were having a great time and everything was going really well until disaster struck and Anna went tumbling to the ground, as if she had tripped over something buried in the snow.

Kristoff picked her up and carried her back to his sled, trying not to get too worried.

Luckily, when they got back inside, Elsa and Mary and Lula (the best caregivers in our group) just happened to be talking together.

Kristoff brought Anna to them, explaining what had happened.

Mary reassured him that Anna would be fine and, sure enough, she was!

After a half hour in their care, Anna was ready to cuddle up in front of the space heater with her fiancee and keep warm.

This warm and fuzzy feeling did not last, however. The very next day, dolls began pointing their fingers around, trying to blame one another for the various tricks that had been happening for so long. Anna's accident was the last straw, and Hans was having the fear and anxiety taken out on him.

Everyone seemed to have an opinion and everyone was taking sides.

The yelling stopped when Annette came in and expressed the fact that she trusted Hans and knew for a fact that he couldn't have been the one playing the tricks because they had been secretly dating. Every time a trick had been played, they had been talking or exploring MyLittleMegara's house.

Luckily, everyone sensed the honesty from which she spoke and left Hans alone.

Still, Kristen and I knew that it was time to catch the real culprit, once and for all.

The next day we set off, ready to find our trickster.

We looked high and low, but to no avail.

Finally, we decided to look inside MyLittleMegara'a closet, searching for an out of place garment or something similar to indicate that something there was not as it should be.

When we saw a grinning skull face on one sweatshirt, we decided to investigate further. MyLittleMegara would never wear a skull, would she? We peered around the other shirts.

There he was.

Kristen reached into the jacket pocket and pulled out two bright wedding bracelets.

The doll in the sweatshirt dove to the ground. Luckily, he wasn't very fast and Kristen and I were able to reach him at the bottom.

When we asked him why he had been so mean to us, he explained that he was just trying to share holiday spirit with everyone. He thought that tricks were just the right way to celebrate Christmas! His name was Jack Skellington, although he also liked being called Sandy Claws. He apologized to everybody and the case was closed.

Kristen and I returned the wedding bracelets to Belle and Adam, who were very relieved.

On February 14 (Valentine's Day!), Anna and Kristoff got married.

Lots of dolls from both Aighmi's and MyLittleMegara's collection were in attendance.

Kristoff stood waiting in a large basket, the trolls in front ready to perform the ceremony.

Everyone was very excited for the wedding to begin.

Elsa walked her sister up the aisle and then stood off to the side, watching the proceedings.

Anna and Kristoff clasped hands and the ceremony began.

It wasn't a traditional doll wedding, but combined many aspects of doll culture and rock troll culture into one new ceremony.

The couple exchanged bracelets and leaned in for their first kiss as husband and wife.

Then, instead of tossing a bouquet, both Anna and Kristoff tossed their crowns into the array of gathered dolls.

Ariel caught Anna's...

... and a new doll I didn't recognize caught Kristoff's,

Elsa topped the whole event off by causing a soft snowfall outside.

Pictures from the reception:

After almost everyone had gone, Ariel stood off to the side. The doll who caught Kristoff's crown came over to her and tapped her on the shoulder.

"Hello," he said.

Ariel whipped around with a sharp intake of breath.

"Eric?" she whispered, disbelievingly.

"It's me," he answered, and the two embraced.

When I noticed that Anna and Kristoff were leaving, I turned away from this interesting development.

Elsa gave her sister and brother in law one large hug, then left, wiping a small tear from her eye.

Kristoff helped Anna out of the basket, and the two walked off to begin their new life.

February 22nd marked the one year anniversary of the first post I ever started to draft on paper.

On February 24, I asked Ariel about Eric and how they knew each other already. Turns out, they had both lived at the same house before Ariel was sent to the thrift store. The little girl who owned Ariel had been allowed to play with her mother's childhood Eric doll, and Ariel and Eric became close friends. When the girl "outgrew" dolls, however, Eric hadn't been sent to the thrift store with Ariel and the girl's mother had kept Eric until January, when he was listed on eBay.

On March 15, Belle and Adam adopted a little girl named Camille.

On March 26, Hercules took me on a special date.

We had dinner together, and then danced a little bit. It was very nice to spend some time alone with him, something I hadn't been able to do in a while.

That's a wrap!
