Hey, Guess What?

MyLittleMegara's precious computer- the one with all my photos on it- is broken. We'll be able to get them off, but posting may be pushed back for a while. This has been the year of Technological Rebellion!!! Sorry, guys!!!

Meet My Friends Post Five

We still aren't done with the initial set of "Meet My Friends" posts that I wrote, so let's keep going!

The Fairy Godmother

Personality: Sweet, giving, caring, nurturing, I like to help Poca make things sometimes.

Favorite Thing to Do: Make other dolls happy!

How I'm Like Movie Fairy Godmother: We're so similar, it's like watching myself!

How I'm Different from Movie Fairy Godmother: I love to paint and I have a name, Holly.

One Fun Fact: I don't have feet!

Giselle

Personality: Innocent, dreamer, musical, outgoing, a little naïve.

Favorite Thing to Do: Daydream!

How I'm Like Movie Giselle: I love to sing and I believe in the power of True Love's Kiss. I also believe that there is goodness in almost everyone- you just have to coax it out.

How I'm Different from Movie Giselle: I'm not particularly gullible and woodland creatures have never come when I sing. I've never even seen a chipmunk up close!

One Fun Fact: I adore vanilla ice cream.

Cinderella

Personality: Quiet, determined, not shy or outgoing, clean, neat, tidy, dreamer.

Favorite Thing to Do: Tidy up!

How I'm like Movie Cinderella: I'm fairly introverted and quiet, I dream of finding romance, and I'm in charge of cleaning up our shelves.

How I'm Different from Movie Cinderella: I refuse to wear rags, I'm terrified of mice, and I clean by choice. Also, I do NOT wear rags. Ever. This princess likes her glass slippers.

One Fun Fact: Aurora and I are best friends, but we're complete opposites. She's outgoing and easily angered, while I'm more reserved and easygoing.

Esmeralda

Personality: Loyal, feisty, independent, I want to help other dolls, a bit of a romantic (aren't we all?)

Favorite Thing to Do: Help Meg with her blog!

How I'm Like Movie Esmeralda: I can hold my own in a fair fight and I have a heart for the outcast. I also love to dance!

How I'm Different from Movie Esmeralda:  I am not an outcast here (although I was in my old home) and there is no creepy Judge Frollo here (thank heavens!)

One Fun Fact: When my leg broke, I worried that I wouldn't be able to dance but I made a full recovery and I still can.

Hopefully, I'll be able to get a few more posts up this week!

May 16-23, 2014: Catching Up

May 16
Two new dolls came today, Adam and Annabel. They're a brother and a sister- Adam is a Disney Store Classic Beast doll and Annabel is a Mattel Ballerina Belle Doll. Adam has no shoes, but otherwise both were a beautiful thrift store find for MyLittleMegara. Adam even has his jacket and Beast head!

When I asked Belle what she thought about Adam, she responded that she would "wait to get to know him before I even CONSIDER romance." She did say she thought he was cute, though.

May 17
Today I officially got my site! I AM THRILLED!

May 22
Wave 3 came through today (Wave 1 being Hannah and Wave 2 being Adam and Annabel.) A Simba Ariel doll named Traci and a Mattel Jasmine named Zia. MyLittleMegara said that Zia didn't have any clothes, so Ariel very graciously offered up her blue dress. That way, Zia wouldn't be utterly humiliated when she had to meet us, "us" being myself, Ariel, Hannah, Vivian, and Jasmine. Both dolls were very nice- Traci was every synonym for bubbly and perky and fun I can think of, although Zia was more reserved, with a brooding, interesting face. We gave them their presents: a dolphin for Traci and an MLP Lotus Blossom for Zia (even though we're all technically adults and don't really play with toys, we've found that a small gift helps new dolls feel more welcomed and will help them settle in better.) When we sat and chatted for a while, we found that Traci loves to sing and only has one leg- the good news is that she has a fin, so it doesn't really show. Zia is a little quiet, although she's a total math whiz and a bit of a Shakespearian. She and Hannah hit it off right away. They share a lot of the same interests (namely Shakespeare and My Little Pony) so they decided to become roommates.

May 23
Oh, oh my goodness. MyLittleMegara just informed me that she's looking into buying a Hercules! She said that I shouldn't hold my breath, but there was at least a 25% chance that she'd be able to buy him. I know that I should be excited, and I am... sort of. But I'm also worried.

I have never told anyone about this and it's about to go up on the internet. I can't believe it.

Okay, I'm worried because, once, there was a Herc in my life. I knew him for a week; it was the shortest amount of time I've ever been in a home. I was purchased in a Salvation Army to be resold on eBay for a better price. While there, I met some other dolls who were in the same situation. One was a Hercules.

Would I say we were in love? No. Not quite. But we bonded immediately, and I felt like there was a spark that, given time, could grow into a flame.

We didn't have time to find out, though, because I was sold.

That was 2009. It's been five years- I thought I'd gotten over it. I guess not.

What if we get a Herc and it is him? It's a one-in-a-million chance. What if I love him but he loves another doll? And what if it isn't him? Will I hate him or grow to adore him? The Herc I knew before had been little more than an infatuation. Would it even matter? AAAARGH!

I doubt I'll get any sleep tonight.

I hope this post made sense- so much happened in the spring that I'm trying to condense it so that I'll be able to catch up and hopefully stay caught up to my life as it is now. :)

Tiana and Naveen's Engagement Photos

May 12, 2014

We've had a new arrival!

She's a Hannah Montana that Mama found at Goodwill (which explains why we now have a Hannah Montana doll- she's never been a fan) and she's actually quite nice- and very different from any expectation we might have had about Hannah Montana dolls in general.

Here's her interview:

Hannah

Personality: Somewhat shy (although I like to act), quiet, nerdy, I love Shakespeare, into fashion

Favorite Thing to Do: Read or act in Shakespeare

How I'm Like TV Hannah: Other than a fondness for clothes and acting, I'm really not. Association with Miley Cyrus does nothing but upset me.

How I'm Different from TV Hannah: I can't sing (at least not in public... eep!) and I dropped the "Montana" from my name the day "Wrecking Ball" came out. From then on, I vowed to be my own doll and to not be bogged down by others' less than satisfactory expectations for me.

One Fun Fact: It is my dream to play Rosalind or Lady Macbeth.

***
As for her roommate, she doesn't have one yet. Nobody has any space- we're all doubled up and there's no way she could triple up!

Meet My Friends Post Four

Time to introduce some of the rest of my friends! Obviously, some dolls have been mentioned that I haven't posted the interviews for, but I only have so much time on the computer every few days so please be patient.

Pocahontas

Personality: Earthy, go-with-the-flow attitude,
Favorite Thing to Do: Make things out of found or recycled objects and make little tutorials on my page.

How I'm Like Movie Pocahontas: I'm fairly daring, I love nature, and I make the best of what I've got.

How I'm Different from Movie Pocahontas: I'm not too inclined to trust strangers and I make things for fun, not necessity.

One Fun Fact: Everyone calls me Poca. :D

Merida

Personality: Fearless, independent, free spirit, rebel, athletic, loving but a bit gruff, chatty

Favorite Thing to Do: Have target practice with Mulan

How I'm Like Movie Merida: I'm very competitive, brave, and rebellious. I love Celtic knots and I have a tender heart- deep down.

How I'm Different from Movie Merida: I actually love my dress and I prefer sword play to archery. I also believe in trying to sort things out in a disagreement before trying to turn someone into a bear, even by accident...

One Fun Fact: MyLittleMegara says that when she was little, she had a friend that looked just like me. I find this a little creepy, personally, but I thought I should share.

Jane Porter

Personality: Silly, bookish, sweet, loyal, smart, and artsy.

Favorite Thing to Do: Joke around with my friends :)

How I'm Like Movie Jane: I'm quirky, I'm smart, and I'm willing to trust people and give them second chances.

How I'm Different from Movie Jane: I love the colors blue and purple and I'd rather not go into the jungle when I can snuggle under a blanket with some classical music playing and read or sketch.

One Fun Fact: If I could be any other Disney character, it would be Elsa. I identify with her in a way I can't explain.

Happy Easter, April 20! (WOW- I AM BEHIND!)

Today was a splendid day (or it was on the 20th of April, when I wrote this) to just relax and enjoy the beauty of God's creation. After MyLittleMegara and her family came home from church, we packed up to go to her grandparents' for afternoon social time/ dinner. But we ended up not having dinner or being social with humans- just enjoying sunshine and each others' company.
Where Mama left us: a chair on the deck.

Vivian was the first one brave enough to venture off of the seat, but I joined her quickly.

Next to join us was Mulan.

The three of us chatted for a while, soon to be joined by Ariel.

Aside from Esmeralda, Ariel is probably my best friend so we had a LOT to talk about.

I think our discussion of hair accessories bored the other two into near oblivion, so they went back to sit for a while.

Tiana and Naveen seemed perfectly happy to be left alone, staring at the yard and whispering.

Suddenly, Ariel stopped talking about hairstyling tips and whispered "Look!" in my ear.

Rapunzel was using her hair to climb out of the chair and Flynn was watching her like a hawk to make sure that she landed safely.

Sure enough, she landed safely- because he caught her.

Quickly, almost before we could notice it, he embraced her.

"Oh my goodness!" Ariel breathed in my ear, "Tiana and Naveen are great and everything, but these two are ADORABLE!"

I agreed with her on that particular observation. :}

Vivian climbed up on top of the deck railing to enjoy some beautiful sunshine, while Tiana and Naveen sat in the vacant chair next to the chair where Mulan was still sitting.

Ariel and I also sunned for a while, but that got boring and our vinyl started to feel a little too warm.

As we lay in the warmth, we noticed a man made pond a few feet away. For all that she loves clothes, Ariel also likes trying new things and exploring, especially with her friends. Naturally, we decided to check it out.
Flynn and Rapunzel felt no such obligation.

Well, that was actually a really gross decision because this was as close as we were willing to get to the mucky pond.

But it was so different from the usual view of MyLittleMegara's bookshelves that we didn't mind. :)

After some walking and talking about everything and nothing, Ariel found a pinecone just our size.

I guess that's one of our Ariel's movie comparisons: she has a thing for stuff. (Now that's a vague sentence.) I mean, she likes to collect knick knacks.

Seeing that Mulan was sitting on the edge of the mulch bed by the deck, Ariel decided to show her her treasure.

Mulan thought it was neat and suggested that we show the others. Tiana and Naveen also liked it, although Vivian didn't really seem to care. (I think she pretended to for Ariel's sake.) But Rapunzel and Flynn weren't on the deck!

We ended up finding them in a little hollow place under a bud-less Japanese maple. They didn't really look like they wanted to see a pinecone, so we left before they noticed us.

After that, Mama wanted to get a picture of me in a tree (she has the strangest ideas sometimes- she kept leaving us out there to be with her family and then rushing back outside to take a bunch of pictures that I'm not including in this already 31 pictures long post) so... into a tree I went.

It was neat to see the world from where a human does- it seems so much bigger from up here!

She gave Ariel a boost as well and got more pictures.

After she let us down, we walked back to our friends and spent the rest of the afternoon discussing nature, our blessings, and the intricacies of life as a doll.

April 19, 2014

I interviewed Tinker Bell today!

Personality: Feisty, gossip, sweet (unless I'm mad,) maybe just a little vain.

How I'm Like Movie Tink: We're sweet and sour at the same time and like to look good.

How I'm Different From Movie Tink: Well, in the books she has this hammer that she loves more than anything else. For me, I have this big green swan figure that I've had ever since I got out of my box and a hairbrush. I also love to know about the dolls around me- although I do my best to avoid hurtful gossip. News shouldn't be demeaning or unkind! Oh, and I've met Wendy and I bet we'll be friends, not enemies.

One Fun Fact: My bangs were cut wrong in the factory! MyLittleMegara says it gives my face character so I guess I'll just have to get used to it. *sigh*
